The differences that are in me
Are what make me
Me is the self I am created to be
The me that is different than you, is me

The differences in me, are in you
You see them as your self and they have been hiding
You see my difference, different than your differences
You think my differences are bad or wrong because they are different

You want to be different like me but you are afraid
You want to be different like me but you are scared of what others will say
You want to be different like me but it is comfortable being like you

Unique, challenging, redefining who we are in this moment, in every moment keeps changing
Our lives evolve, we evolve, and that is why we are different
Not the colour of our skin, what we like to eat, or wear
Not who we pray to, or love

Discovering who we are, what we want and need to be true to our self is like breathing
Silencing what is inside us to hide, is death to self

The person we are today, is a different person than who we will be as our future self
The dreams, ambitions and life we live are different but the same
We all want to be loved, respected, safe and just be ourselves

The differences as we evolve, change like the prisms of our life
Each of us is a variance of the other, a different version of self
Born into the environment, with have or have not
We are the same, but different

Choices, lifestyle, that we chose are like the paint strokes of the creator
Changing, with the path and opportunities that we have or take
The circle of influencers around us have created and molded us
The heart and soul of self has hidden and cries to be free

Free to be accepted and unjudged
Free to love and be loved
Free to be respected and be different
Free to be safe and heard

Diming out my light to light yours is death to self

As we evolve, shining brighter, our light shines on others
Their light becomes brighter
We all become stronger, brighter and shine brighter together

I light my light; I shine brighter every day shining brighter
I become stronger, we become stronger, brighter together

Light your light
Shine brighter being the perfect self you are
With all it’s beautiful prisms of self

Reflect the wonderful colours of the rainbow
Helping each other we are stronger
Respecting each other we are stronger
Loving each other we are stronger

Versions of Self

The versions of self. Self that we see, imagine and portraits, are they all masks? What do others think of me, first impressions, people who have known me for years, family or friends. The #legacyoflove that we leave behind like a digital footprint follows us. Moments and memories logged into our existence that can never be changed. These are left like a #watermarkofself that imprints on the hearts of others. The subconcious seeds of love that we sow today may live silently deep within.
